The name of the firm is a nod to the Black Knight athletic teams of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, of which Daryl Dennis is a graduate. The core beliefs embodied by West Point can be found at Black Knight. Discipline, honor, hard work, strategical thinking and performance (which is the equivalent of accomplishing the mission) remain central to the organization today.
